Botanical Print Fringed Kimono Review

I think it's been fairly easy, particularly this past sunny Easter weekend, to convince myself that Summer is on the way. I'm not a huge fan of Summer fashion because it can be hard to enjoy it when you're plus-sized; every high street advert online is co-ords, bodycon dresses, booty shorts or playsuits. However, I completely fell in love with a botanical print kimono I found in River Island on Saturday.

(Soz about no makeup ^^)

The first thing I fell in love with was the gorgeous print. The main pattern is botanical/floral but it's fringed with a bolt-print edging which is really strange but also really flattering. It's got beading around the neckline which frames the pattern well, and it feels really luxurious and heavy in your hands. The second thing that caught my eye was the black tassel fringing along the bottom. I'm in love with tassels right now and it means that you get a bit more cover from the sun.

I am a typical pale and pasty Brit which means that the majority of my swimwear is black or plain. I think chucking a simple kimono on top of a plain black one-piece is gorgeous when paired with some chunky block heeled sandals. Alternatively, embrace the print-clash that I have today and pair it with a contrasting pattern and some simple flipflops.

River Island priced this at £35 which I felt was a bargain, simply because of how high in quality the kimono feels and the fact it's such a multi-functional addition to my wardrobe. Have a look at the rest of their range for a few less bold and more neutral options.
